Rowan D. Wilson, Chair

Rowan D. Wilson has served on the Neighborhood Defender Service Board of Trustees since 1994; in 1996, he accepted the role of chair. Under his board leadership NDS has become the premier community-based public defender agency. Today, NDS is recognized nationally and internationally for its vision and work.

Mr. Wilson joined Cravath, Swaine & Moore in 1986, and became a partner in 1992. He has a broad practice specializing in complex litigation, including antitrust and competition, intellectual property, contracts, securities fraud, entertainment and media, civil rights, and employment matters. Previously, he served as a judicial clerk for the Honorable James R. Browning, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Mr. Wilson is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School, where he was a member of the Civil Rights/Civil Liberties Law Review.
