Sonia Cerpa, Controller
Sonia joined NDS in November of 1998. Prior to joining the organization, Sonia spent seventeen years as a senior accounting analyst for the Vera Institute of Justice.

Balchan Gajadhar, Assistant to the Controller
Balchan is currently pursuing a MBA in finance at Keller Graduate School. He obtained his undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Guyana. Balchan later won a Commonwealth Scholarship to pursue studies in finance at Goa University in India where he graduated with a postgraduate diploma in financial services. Prior to joining NDS, Balchan had eight years of experience in private enterprise and real estate.

GaKia Gray, Executive Assistant
GaKia joined NDS in 2008 as the executive assistant to Rick Jones, the executive director of NDS. GaKia received her BA in legal studies from John Jay College of Criminal Justice, and plans to use her experience at NDS to prepare for law school.

Shirley Hernandez, Receptionist
Shirley joined NDS in 2006 as a receptionist after working temporarily for NDS in the finance department. Previously, Shirley was a laboratory assistant for five years at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She also worked as an administrative assistant to the president of Ufland-Jannes Ltd., a public relations firm in mid-town Manhattan.

Mia T. Jackson, Team Administrator
Mia has been committed to social justice since college, where she was a mentor and board member of FACES, an organization seeking to educate incoming freshman on issues concerning identity and institutional racism. Mia plans to attend law school and become a public defender in the future. Mia received her BA from Boston College in 2007.

Roderick Kelly, Team Administrator
Roderick holds a BA in business administration from Hunter College, and received his MBA in 2008 from the University of Phoenix online. He joined NDS in February of 1999. Roderick also volunteers doing HIV/AIDS research at Columbia University. Roderick is a Harlem resident, and he enjoys providing needed services to fellow residents of his community. 

Reginald Mabry, Computer Services Director
Reggie is a Certified Netware Engineer (CNE), Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), and a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). He has over 20 years experience supporting and administering LAN, WAN, and internet environments. Reggie received his BS from the School of Engineering at the City College of New York in 1988.

Melida Ramirez, Team Administrator
Melida joined NDS in 2004. Melida previously participated in the Work Experience Program sponsored by the Jewish Community Council of Greater Coney Island. She received her AAS in paralegal studies from Hostos Community College. While at Hostos, Melida worked in the college's admissions office, and for Bronx Legal Services through a work study program.

Dorothy Rolon, Receptionist
Dorothy Rolon joined the NDS team in March 2009. Previously, she worked as an administrative assistant for New York University's Stern School of Business, Alumni Division. Dorothy received her BA in sociology from the New York University School of Continuation & Professional Studies.

Yalitza Serrano-Collado, Team Administrator
Yalitza has an AAS in paralegal studies and a BA in business from Berkeley College. As part of her preparation for her paralegal degree, she interned at the Civil Enforcement Unit of the New York City Police Department, processing forfeiture cases. Prior to joining NDS in 2004, Yalitza was a teacher's assistant for five years at the Westside YMCA Tendercare Program. She also has an early child care teaching certificate, is certified to administer CPR, and has taken courses in the detection of child abuse and maltreatment of children.

Ian Slocombe, Computer Service Technician
Ian is a certified CompTIA A+ technician, and has over 15 years of experience providing computer help desk support and as an audio/visual technician. Prior to joining NDS, Ian worked as a computer technician for the College of New Rochelle, and as an audio/video technician at KVL Audio Visual Services. Ian also lends his skills to help local entrepreneurs, small organizations, and young people in addressing technology issues.

Annoguie "Annie" Viruet, Human Resources Director
Annie joined NDS in 1997, and has the day-to-day responsibility of managing NDS's administrative services, human resources, and facilities. Annie has nearly two decades of experience in the areas of human resources and administrative services, and is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management. Annie is a graduate of Monroe College.
