Sonia Cerpa, Controller
Sonia joined NDS in November of 1998. Prior to joining the organization, Sonia spent seventeen years as a senior accounting analyst for the Vera Institute of Justice.

Shirley Hernandez, Receptionist
Shirley joined NDS in 2006 as a receptionist after working temporarily for NDS in the finance department. Previously, Shirley was a laboratory assistant for five years at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. She also worked as an administrative assistant to the president of Ufland-Jannes Ltd., a public relations firm in mid-town Manhattan.

Alisha Peltz, Executive Assistant
Alisha joined NDS in 2010 returning to New York City from Seattle, WA after a 13 year absence. In Seattle, she received her BA and master's degrees at the University of Washington and taught middle school special education. Prior to that, she worked as a program coordinator at the Center on Human Development and Disability at the University of Washington. Alisha grew up in Morningside Heights.

Yalitza Serrano-Collado, Management Team Administrator
Yalitza has an AAS in paralegal studies and a BA in business from Berkeley College. As part of her preparation for her paralegal degree, she interned at the Civil Enforcement Unit fo the new York City Police Department, processing forfeiture cases. Prior to joining NDS in 2004, Yalitza was a teacher's assistant for five years at the Westside YMCA Tendercare Program. She also has an early child care teaching certificate, is certified to administer CPR, and has taken courses in the detection of child abuse and maltreatment of children.

Willie Vargas, Office Aide, Messenger
Willie worked at NDS from 2005 - 2008, and again starting in 2010. He began as an intern. Willie enjoys being a part of the work NDS does - helping people in the community.

Alexis Venzen, Receptionist 
Alexis joined NDS in November of 2010, serving as the office receptionist. Prior to joining the NDS team, Alexis worked as a Guest Relations Liaison for the Medical University of South Carolina. Alexis is currently pursuing her Associate's degree in Paralegal Studies from Berkeley College with an anticipated graduation date of summer 2012. 

Annoguie "Annie" Viruet, Human Resources Director
Annie joined NDS in 1997, and has the day-to-day responsibility of managing NDS's administrative services, human resources, and facilities. Annie has nearly two decades of experience in the areas of human resources and administrative services, and is a member of the Society for Human Resources Management. Annie is a graduate of Monroe College.

Lauren Winston-McPherson, Temporary Executive Assistant  
Lauren Winston-McPherson joined NDS as Temporary Executive Assistant in October of 2011. Prior to NDS, Lauren served as a Student Success Specialist Assistant at Arizona State University. Lauren has an undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance with a Minor in African-American Studies from ASU. She recently completed her Master's degree in Liberal Studies, concentrating on race, identity and black lesbianism/activism, also from ASU.
